Look at my baby. We got her yesterday, and I’m sobbing at her adorable-ness.
***IMPORTANT*** PLEASE HELP ME KEEP MY DAD FROM BEING WRONGFULLY IMPRISONED
For those of you who don’t follow me or know me, my name is Lianne.
And yesterday, my family was told that my dad will be going to prison.
I will try to keep this story as short as possible, but it’s a complicated situation so forgive me if I ramble on.
I have a half brother, my dad’s son with an ex of his, and said ex is not a nice person, to say the least.
Ever since my six year old brother was born, she has abused her “rights” as a mother to dictate and control what rights my dad gets to him, and to essentially make my dad’s life hell.
But yesterday she took things further than any of my family would ever have imagined she would.
My dad was forced to leave his job almost a year ago due to harassment he endured from his boss, and due to that, he could no longer pay “official” child support for my brother, while he still of course helped where he could, still cared for him, still continued to be in his life of course.
He could simply no longer pay the official weekly payments of a set amount.
My brother’s mother had no problem with this at the time.
In this country, it is stated in the law, that unemployment IS grounds for child support to stop.
But apparently, my dad should have been informed that he had to go to court to make it official that he had stopped payments.
And my brother’s mother discovered this, and decided that she was going to use this as her next way to target my dad.
She brought him to court yesterday morning and he was told by the judge that he either has to have 2000 euro by next Wednesday (March 6th), or he will be going to jail for at least 28 days.
That amount of money is not exactly an affordable amount for my family, and the most we’ve been able to pull together is a couple of hundred.
This is where I ask for help. (Which I must point out, I know is a big thing to ask, and I truly hate asking this of ANYONE.)
My family need help raising money to keep my dad out of jail.
The judge also informed my dad, that if he could not have 2000 euro, he will accept a “reasonable amount”.
We don’t know what he would define as reasonable for himself, but we are aiming for 800-1000 euro. We currently have around 500, so we need 300-500 more.
Once again, I know this is a lot to ask, but if anybody can help me, with ANY amount, literally any small amount will help.
I’ve seen how amazing people can be on here.
I’ve seen people pull together to help people pay their rent so they didn’t get kicked out of their house, pay for their animals’ emergency operations that saved their lives.
So this is why I have come to this last resort, and I have hope that this may help me save my dad from being locked away in prison.
I don’t want to see my dad in a visiting room with actual criminals.
I don’t want to have to know that my dad is alone in a cell.
I don’t want to have to have those images in my mind.
Nobody should have to see their dad pulled away in handcuffs.
That is why I am willing to ask for help, because I’m desperate.
